At Titanic Brewery we have always been proud of our record in raising money for local and national charities. These are all incredibly worthwhile and we will continue to support a wide variety of good causes. We want to get our customers more involved with who we support and specifically try and target small local needs.

We started up the ‘Copper Jar’ initiative after seeing something similar elsewhere else the in UK and thought our wonderful local communities would get fully onboard with.
We started with ‘Stafford Copper Jar’ with The Sun Stafford and bod Stafford having ‘copper jars’ on the bar for customers loose change. We then set up a Facebook group and encouraged customers to join and contribute. Info and messages are posted and as the jars fill up we ask for suggestions of who to support. Once £100 has been reached, a poll is put out on the Facebook group and a winner us created from the votes. This was started late in 2017 and we have now given away more than £500 to local groups and charities with the money helping in many ways from House of Bread buying supplies for homeless and vulnerable people to buying flip flops for tired feet after a night our via Stafford Street Pastors.

Due to the success of Stafford Copper Jar, we rolled this out to Stone, Leek and now the Potteries.

If we see sufficient interest we may set up small ‘Charity Committee’ within each ‘Copper Jar’ scheme to over see our efforts and maybe even suggest some occasional fund raising events. We also hope to roll this our to more locations in the near future.
We do hope you find this interesting and please let us know your thoughts on this – we will see what we can achieve!
